Hawg Wild initially opened in December of 1997. But on July 7, 2001, a late-night fire literally brought Hawg Wild to its knees. Looking back on the devastating incident, Don says it was actually a blessing in disguise.

Although the rebuilding effort was exhausting. As far as restarting, its exciting, but difficult. Putting in countless amounts of hours. The final result of the new Hawg Wild.

Having opened and operated Hawg Wild for more than 26 years... Don and Sandy finally passed the torch to Alex and Crystal Ingle on October 2nd, 2023... becoming Hawg Wild Smokehouse & Taproom!

Alex and Crystal are both locally born and raised in Transylvania County. They have raised four children here and want to keep the down home feel, while still welcoming all visitors that want to come share our all piece of paradise located here in WNC.
